fine art
My art practice is rooted in mindfulness and curiosity. Through painting and drawing, I strive to slow down, notice more of the beauty in the world, and cultivate a greater sense of presence. When I feel burnt out or overwhelmed by the ugliness in life and in the world, I turn inward, using bold color and expressive mark-making to create my own sense of peace and beauty.
I’m especially drawn to everyday objects and scenes. I see them as an opportunity to pause, pay attention, create meaning, and capture beauty in the ordinary.
I approach each piece with an open mind and never shy away from new mediums or unconventional materials. I often experiment with simple, even elementary, materials as a way to tap into a sense of play. Experimentation is my favorite part of the process, and it often leads to my most meaningful and exciting work.
