Summer Cocktails

Introducing my Summer Cocktails mini collection of prints, now available in my shop.

I’ve had cocktails on a long list of project ideas for a while now. Drinking feels like the quintessential summer activity, so now is the perfect time to bring this series to life!

The idea was to create very simple cocktail recipes with elementary-style illustrations and unique color pairings. I didn’t plan much. I knew I wanted the illustration to be pretty simple, sparing the details to let the bold color and texture shine.

My style pairs naturally with bright, summery colors. I definitely feel at home creating artwork for this time of year.

I’ve been experimenting with more loose and expressive sketches lately. I love the scribbles and texture of the colored pencils you can see in the original sketches and final prints.

When I make patterns, I typically fill every inch of space. It was challenging to refrain from my usual habits when it came time to finalize these digitally. I’m happy with the use of negative space in some of these, something new for me.

This is a project I’d like to continue with in the future, exploring a new season. I think the playful style and unexpected color palettes work very well for the summer, I’m excited to see how it will translate during another time of year.

These prints are available in a range of sizes to add some colorful summer decor to your walls:

8x10 inches (20.32 x 25.4 cm)

11 x 14 inches (27.5 x 35 cm)

16 x 20 inches (40.5 x 50.6 cm)

18 x 24 inches (45 x 60cm)
